The Rivalry

UCLA and USC have the top two athletic programs in the country. They both rank among the elite in virtually every collegiate sport. UCLA leads the nation with 112 NCAA Team Championships and 133 total National Championships. USC's 100 NCAA and 122 total titles rank third and second, respectively, and the Trojans boast the most NCAA Men's Championships with 84.

In addition to the titles, USC has produced more MLB players than any other school and has the second most in the NFL, while UCLA has sent the second most players to the NBA.  USC has produced more Olympians (422), medals (286), and gold medals (135) than any other university in the nation.  For their part, UCLA is second in all three categories with 420 Olympians, 250 medals, and 125 gold medals.  Their 536 combined Summer Olympic medals would rank 7th on the country list and account for more than one-fifth of all US medals, while their 260 combined gold medals would rank 3rd behind only USA and USSR.
